Liverpool got the better of Chelsea as they defeated them 2-0 in the second match of the season. Both sides were playing good football until Chelsea got a red card when Christensen fouled Mane at the end of the first half, oyogist.com reports.
Immediately the second half started, it was very clear that Liverpool were the better side as they dominated the game. In the end , Mane got two goals to help Jurgen Klopp men get the victory.
After the Match, Klopp praised the Chelsea team and said things might have been different without the red card. He however singled out one player for praise in the Chelsea team.
The player is Timo Werner. Werner was constantly a threat in the game even after the red card as he constantly made runs at the Liverpool defense.
“Werner Is a good player, no real tactics can defend him when he has the ball” Klopp told Sky sports. According to him Fabinho who defended against Werner would have been given the man of the man of the match if Mane hadn’t scored.
Klopp is right as Werner is definitely one of Chelsea’s best player in the game as he constantly threatened Liverpool. He even won a penalty for Chelsea just like against Brighton.
