Following Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s approval on the re-opening of Tertiary Institutions in the State for regular academic activities, heads of Tertiary Institutions in the state have been directed to consider e-Learning option as part of teaching method.

Governor Makinde recently approved that academic activities should commence on Monday, 28th September, 2020.

In a circular letter signed by the state Commissioner for Education, science and Technology Barr. Olasunkanmi Olaleye, Institutions should ensure not more than 50% lecture room population capacity.

The circular reads further that “Institutions are to organize training for students and lecturers before resumption and ensure community sensitization on the prevention of spread of coronavirus.

“Also the Institution should create a Hold-on Room to handle/manage emergencies and set up Committees to monitor compliance with COVID-19 guidelines within and outside the Institutions.

“Each Institution should mandatorily appoint COVID-19 Task Force that will work directly with the health Institutions created for the purpose in each zone and link their activities with the State COVID-19 team.”
