Google Signs Massive $920 Million-Per-Month AI Deal With SpaceX

The artificial intelligence arms race has reached another extraordinary milestone after Google agreed to pay Elon Musk’s SpaceX approximately $920 million every month for access to advanced AI computing infrastructure. The multiyear agreement, one of the largest cloud-computing contracts ever disclosed, grants Google access to roughly 110,000 Nvidia GPUs and related computing resources needed to power its rapidly expanding AI ecosystem.

The deal highlights a surprising reality at the heart of the AI boom: even the world’s largest technology companies are struggling to secure enough computing power. Despite operating some of the planet’s most sophisticated data centers, Google has reportedly sought additional capacity to meet soaring demand for its Gemini AI platform and enterprise AI services. Industry experts view the agreement as evidence that demand for advanced AI infrastructure is growing faster than companies can build it.

For SpaceX, the agreement represents another major step in its transformation from a rocket and satellite company into a significant player in the AI infrastructure market. Following a similar arrangement with Anthropic, SpaceX has effectively positioned itself as a supplier of one of the world’s most valuable resources: large-scale AI computing power. Analysts believe the agreement will strengthen investor confidence ahead of the company’s highly anticipated public offering while demonstrating the immense commercial opportunities emerging around artificial intelligence infrastructure.
