“Obey government directive and leave the road” – Babaloja advise road side traders in ibadan.

Following the Oyo state government’s 7-Day ultimatum, the Babaloja in General of Oyo state, Alhaji Yekeen Abass, has urged road side traders in the state to comply with the directives of the state government adding that it’s in the best interest of the traders.

He said this on Monday at the first meeting after his installation with the State Market Leader’s Council at the secretariat of the Oyo State Chapter of the Tradesmen and Artisan, in Ibadan, the state capital.

Recall that the state government has issued a 7-Day ultimatum to roadside traders to leave adding that whoever found selling by the roadside will face the wrath of the law.

Abass thanked the Oyo state government-led by Engineer Seyi Makinde, the Alaafin of Oyo, the Olubadan of Ibadan and other Obas in the state.

He also commended Market Leader’s Council in the state and market men and women for the support and love.

He said “I thank God for the success of the ceremony. I want to commend the efforts of the Oyo state government under the leadership of Engineer Seyi Makinde. I also want to thank the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji Akanmu Aje Ogunguniso I and other Obas in the state.

“This is the first official meeting after my installation as the Babaloja in General of Oyo state. I want to thank all market men and women for the love and support. I pray God bless everyone. I also want to thank the Oyo State Market Leader’s Council.

“I want to urge our roadside traders to obey the government’s directive and leave the road. The directive is in our interest to safe and protect us aside other benefits. Our lives are as important as money. Selling market at the roadside exposed us to different kinds of risk. Let support the Engineer Seyi Makinde-led government”

President, Alh Chief Mrs Hamdalat Iyadunni Lawal; Tradesmen And Artisans Association, represented by its President, Alh Chief Yisau Kolawole Hamzat; Joints Trader’s Association Of Oyo State, represented by its President, Chief Mrs Patience Labake Lawal JP; Nigeria Youths Trader’s Action International (NYTACI), represented by its President, Alh Chief Najimudeen Amole Azeez.

(OYSATRIN), represented by its President, Chief Mrs Stella Modupe Olabode JP; National Trader’s And Market Leader’s Council (NATMALC), represented by its President, Alhaja Chief Mrs Sikirat Hammed Lawal; Oyo State Market Men And Women Association.
