Several of Arsenal FC supporters have been giving their opinions on the story confirming that the Mikel Arteta’s side are interested in signing the 26 year-old Zenit Petersburg talented holding midfielder, Wilmar Barrios, oyogist.com reports.
According to reports, the Gunners have “gotten in touched” with the 26-year-old Columbiana sensational defensive midfielder, whose €30million release clause “shouldn’t bother” the Mikel Arteta’s side, who could possibly lose the French international, Matteo Guendouzi and or the Uruguayan midfielder, Lucas Torreira this summer.
The publication also stated that fellow English Premier League outfit Newcastle United FC are showing eagerness and have made a bid of €17million, which has been rejected. Inspite having played at Zenit Petersburg for a relatively low amount of time, Wilmar Barrios has already won 2 Russian crowns and one Russian Cup, whilst at Boca Junior, he won 2 Argentinian championships.
The Colombian international, Wilmar Barrios has 28 caps to his ranks and has played at the 2018 World Cup, which include in the last-16 meeting with England and also the 2019 Copa America.
Perhaps Wilmar Barrios is just what the Mikel Arteta’s side could do with, a match changer who can add some quality and steel to the heart of the middle of the park, but knows how to toe the line so as to keep playing to avoid suspensions.
