Nigeria To Partner With India On The Production Of COVID-19 Vaccine

OYOGist.com had learned that the Federal Government of Nigeria on Friday craved for the partnership of Indian Government to produce a portent vaccine that would combat with the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic.

Representing the Federal Government was the Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire who made this disclosure in Abuja while handing over vaccines donated by the Indian Government to the Federal Government of Nigeria to assist in the fight against the invisible scourge.

The Minister informed the envoys that the collaboration on production of the vaccine would aid to tackle the need country and that of other West African countries at this trying time. He maintained that Nigeria has been zealously working to actualize the much awaited dream.

He further stressed that by partnering with a scientific advanced country like India, Nigeria and indeed other ECOWAS countries are threading on the right path toward actualizing their dream of producing a vaccine that would help curb the spread of the scourging COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr Osagie told the envoys he was just returning from the meeting of ECOWAS Ministers of Health where they discussed extensively on some of the ways through which COVID-19 vaccines can be made available for the sub-region, as a way of complementing the efforts of other world leaders who are equally desirous of producing an effective vaccine that will make the disease go in extinction.

He therefore expressed the countries readiness to liaise with the Government of India by bringing together the scientists of the two countries so as to bring out a formidable vaccine that would fight the Coronavirus pandemic.
