Hollywood actress, Halle Berry has issued an apology for intending to play a transgender man in an upcoming movie, OYOGist.com has gathered.
The actress received backlash and outrage over her decision to take the role, and how she “genderised” the transgender man in an interview.
Over the weekend, Halle Berry spoke at length on an Instagram live video and discussed the role and subsequently announced her decision to drop the role.

She wrote on Twitter that she now understands that she should not have considered the role.
“As a cisgender woman, I now understand that I should not have considered this role, and that the transgender community should undeniably have the opportunity to tell their own stories,” she wrote on Twitter.
“I am grateful for the guidance and critical conversation over the past few days and I will continue to listen, educate and learn from this mistake.”
