Edo 2020: No Primaries election will hold without permit – Obaseki reaffirms

The Edo state governor has reinstated that all political parties in the state must get an approval from him to hold any political meeting or gathering.

Gov. Godwin Obaseki, said this via his Special Media Adviser, Crusoe Osagie whille discussing with reporters on Saturday in Benin City, Edo State.

He said that Gov. Obaseki had signed a document on May twenty-eighth and published on 5th of June , which strictly placed a full bans mass gathering of people across the state.

The special advicer noted that the document was still in force and would be enforced to ensure all form of any type of gathering in the state must follow the COVID-19 prevention guildlines.

He lets it known that there was nothing political about the gathering restrictions saying it was meant to protect the people of the state from the deadly virus.

He also explained that as of 10 pm on Saturday, the relevant agencies of the state had not received any request for a permit from the APC to organise any form of gathering.

His reasons are genuine and His reasons are genuine and shouldn’t be interpreted wrongly the rules have been putted in place way before the elections. And it is also for protective reasons.
