Ogun State relaxes lockdown from Mondays to Fridays

OYOGist.com has learned that the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has reportedly relaxed the lockdown in the state except for weekends. The Governor expressed this on Thursday evening while at the same time tending to newsmen on the update of COVID-19 held at his Oke-Mosan office.

Abiodun said from now on, there will be free movement between Mondays, and Fridays except from on Saturdays, and Sundays. He included that the Federal Government’s ban on curfew which begins from 8:pm and closes 6:am daily still stands. He additionally said the prohibition on interstate travel and religious gatherings is also still in place.

The governor stated that the state recorded 59 new positive cases, an increase of 32 percent, bringing the absolute number of positive cases in the state to date to 242.

According to reports, the Governor said, “This second phase has two major elements of further relaxation of the restrictions and expansion in the number of days.

“As opposed to the present three days of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, this new stage opens up all the five working days in the week i.e Monday to Friday, with just Saturday and Sunday as lockdown days.
