According to reports, India is looking at enticing 1,000 American companies away from China to India as the Trump Administration intensifies efforts to pin the COVID-19 pandemic fault on China, OYOGist.com reports.

An April document revealed that Indian officials reached out to over 1,000 American companies to come and set-up their manufacturing factories in India as they seek to move out of China.

The global reliance on Chinese manufacturing strength has given its economy an edge and is being perceived by many as a strategy in China’s weapon against the US.

OYOGist.com recalls earlier that China was accused of downplaying the contagion level of the Coronavirus while it stock piled necessary medical materials needed to fight the virus, blindsiding the WHO and the rest of the world.

The US and India enjoys smooth bilateral relationships, and President Trump paid a state visit to India in February, before the outbreak of the coronavirus reached a global scale.

China is still the global manufacturing hub of the world, as most of the products used around the world today, including Apple iPhones and several medical materials are manufactured in China.

With the coronavirus pandemic being blamed on China, countries such as India, Vietnam and Thailand are vying to topple China from that position.
