OYOGist.com has learned that the US National Football League star Von Miller says he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The 31-year-old Denver Broncos linebacker appeared in a TV program from his home on Friday. He said he was shocked to learn about his test result the previous day.
Miller said he had a simple cough that worsened over time. He said he was advised to get tested when his cough was no longer normal.
He said his condition so far had been mild. He said he decided to share his diagnosis with others to emphasize that anyone can be infected with the virus.
The NFL is scheduled to open its season in September. Miller said he has to do all kinds of things to get back to normal, but he shouldn’t move in a hurry.
Miller is an eight-time Pro Bowl selection and the Super Bowl 50 MVP in 2016. He is the second known NFL player to test positive for the virus. He wrote in an Instagram post, “Take this seriously. It’s definitely FOR REAL.”
