An appeal has gone to the people of Oyo State to desist from act of burning tyre on the road, especially by community Vigilantes. This appeal was contained in a statement issued by the Chairman, Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency OYSROMA, Hon. Kamil Akinlabi Mudashiru on Tuesday in Ibadan.

According to him, the agency noted the fact that it was a trying period for the entire world, but thanked the people of Oyo State for their support and cooperation for His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, in fighting the novel virus.

“However, we note with concerns, the act of burning tyre on our roads which will destroy the asphaltic layer of the road, hence weakening the road and shortening its capacity to last. “This is constituting additional problems on our roads, as the roads that we’re recently rehabilitated or reconstructed are spoilt by this act,” he noted.
