Former President of Nigeria, President Goodluck Jonathan has reacted to the unfortunate fire explosion that happened in Abule Ado, Festac Lagos on Sunday 15th of March, OYOGist.com has learned.

The explosion was reportedly caused by a pipeline operated by NNPC in the area. The explosion caused the loss of several lives and destroyed several buildings, with most affected buildings burned to the ground.

Sharing a condolence message on his social media account, Goodluck Jonathan expressed his feelings towards the families of the victims and called for the entire nation to rally round those that have been “unnecessarily put to grief.”

“My heart goes out to all the victims and families of those killed in the unfortunate explosions and fire outbreak in Lagos last Sunday, which claimed many lives and destroyed several valuable assets,” Jonathan said.

“At a time like this, we cannot but rally behind those that have unnecessarily been put to grief.

“It is expected that the ongoing investigation by relevant authorities to determine the cause of the explosion must produce outcomes that should not only prevent such sad occurrences in the future but also reassure the victims and their loved ones that their sorrow and harrowing experiences have not been in vain.”
