A Nigerian woman has shared how she allegedly caught her neighbour in the act of stealing diesel from her home after noticing her supply was finishing faster than usual.
According to her account posted on social media, she became suspicious when her diesel began depleting at an unusual rate. She decided to set a trap, observing that the theft likely occurred at a specific time when the electric fence was usually switched off and the dogs were locked up to rest.
She said she followed the normal routine that day, pretended to leave the house, then quietly returned through the back door to wait.
To her shock, she claimed her neighbour casually walked into her compound, carried stored diesel, and even drained fuel directly from her generator. She waited until he had moved everything to his side and was attempting to jump back over the fence.
At that moment, she turned the electric fence back on and released the dogs, leaving the suspect trapped on the fence. According to her, he remained stuck for hours before police were eventually called to pick him up.
Photos shared online show a man perched awkwardly on a fence, allegedly unable to climb down or escape.
The incident has sparked reactions online, with many praising the woman’s patience and strategy, while others urged residents to prioritize proper security measures and legal processes in handling neighbourhood disputes.
Authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.
