Oyogist has learned that Patrick Demarchelier, the favourite photographer of princess diana, has died aged 78.
Patrick, who took some of the most captivating and memorable portraits of Princess Diana, was contacted by the Princess of Wales in 1989 after she saw one of his images on the cover of Vogue.
Patrick while speaking regarding his relationship with the princess said She was funny and kind – but fundamentally she was a very simple woman who liked very simple things.’
The death of Mr Demarchelier, who lived in New York with his ex-model wife Mia, was confirmed on his Instagram account last night.
He is survived by three sons – Gustaf, Arthur and Victor – and three grandchildren.
