According to report reaching oyogist.com, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have reportedly warned Senator Elisha Ishaku Abbo to be weary of the legal implication of his defection to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
This was made known by the PDP national publicity secretary of the party, Kola Ologbondiyan, who stated that the People’s Democratic Party wasn’t puzzled by the decision of Sen. Elisha Abbo’s decision to exit the hollow senate chamber.
“He is fully aware of the constitutional implication of his decision to defect to another party; which is that he cannot continue to occupy the seat of the PDP in the Senate.”
Senator Elisha Abbo stated that the People’s Democratic Party wasn’t going to allow Senator Elisha Abbo run away with the party’s mandate. Mr. Ologbondiyan stated that the party has already commenced the process of Sen. Abbo’s replacement with a credible and stable person.
“The place of any Senator who changed parties except on the grounds provided by the Constitution is very clear and the PDP will not allow Senator Abbo to run away with our mandate. It is impossible. Our party has already commenced the process for his replacement with a credible, stable and acceptable person, to take over his seat in the Senate.”
