There is a bit of bad news for Duoye Diri as the tribunal sitting in Abuja has annulled his election as the governor of Bayelsa state, oyogist.com reports.
According to reports in The Cable, The Advanced Nigeria Democratic Party (ANDP) had asked the tribunal to cancel the election because it was excluded from the exercise. This was made known on Monday.
Duoye Diri was Peoples Democractic Party (PDP) candidate and he assumed the position of the number one citizen of the state after supreme court sacked All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate David Lyon as governor-elect 24 hours before his inauguration.
The decision was made by the apex court after Lyon’s running mate Biobarakuma Degi-Eremieoyo presented a forged certificates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
