OYOGist.com has learned that Barrister Henry Idiahagbon, a former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Edo State and the convener, Edo Peoples Movement (EPM), in a recent interview with CHARLES OPURUM he spoke on the financial misappropriation allegations leveled against former governor of Akwa-Ibom state, Senator Godswill Akpabio who is the current minister of Niger-Delta
As many Nigerians have been reacting to the startling revelation coming out of the Niger-Delta Development Commission, Barrister Henry Idiahagbon, former Attorney General of Edo state has also reacted to the ongoing shenanigans in the Niger-Delta Development Commission financial misappropriation and has called it criminal.
Talking to Charles Opurum on KU FM ‘Dialogue’ program on Monday morning, the former attorney general of Edo state descended heavily on the leadership of the commission tagging it as failure not shocking to him.
“To be honest I wasn’t shocked and I will be surprised if any Nigerian was shocked at the very serious allegations raised by Dr. Joy Nunie, the erstwhile MD of Nigeria Delta Development Commission (NDDC).”
“I wasn’t shocked because the NDDC right from it’s inception has been sesple of corruption and till today, those of us who are Niger-Delta citizens cannot point to anything tangible by way of project executed by the commission since it’s establishment, and we all know that billions of naira if not trillion have been budget to the NDDC since it’s inception.”
“Today practically, nothing to show for it, there is no one outstanding road in all the Niger-Delta States so far constructed by the NDDC, there is no one hospital, there is just nothing to show for it, so the NDDC is a sesple of corruption and unfortunately the current minister that is Godswill Akpabio is continuing in the perpetuation of the corruption.”
“People like Dr Nunie should be commended for coming out openly to expose some of the acts of corruption going on in the NDDC so to that extent, I wasn’t surprised at all. It is is in the character of NDDC to be corrupt.
