US delegation meets Pakistani mediators in Switzerland ahead of Iran talks

In a high-stakes prelude to formal diplomatic negotiations, a United States delegation has sat down for preliminary talks with Pakistani mediators at a secluded Swiss resort.

This crucial encounter serves as the final step before the U.S. and Iran enter direct talks aimed at solidifying a fragile interim peace agreement and resolving deep-seated regional tensions.

Led by U.S. Vice President JD Vance, the American team met with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and military chief General Asim Munir, both of whom have played pivotal roles as neutral intermediaries between Washington and Tehran throughout the recent conflict.

The Swiss Foreign Ministry has committed to providing a strict, confidential environment to give the incoming negotiations the highest possible chance of success. The groundwork laid today by the U.S. and Pakistani mediators will determine whether this summit marks a genuine turning point for global diplomacy or a return to geopolitical deadlock.
