Popular Nigerian artist, Rema says the ongoing strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU is currently preventing him from resuming school, Oyogist reports.
Recall few months ago, Rema had announced that he recently got admission into the Lagos State University, LASU to study theatre arts.
In his most recent post on twitter, the singer pleaded with the union to call off the strike.
He wrote;
“ASUU, since dem give me admission I neva start school o, e don do nau!
Meanwhile, the Minister of Labour and employment, Chris Ngige also called on the striking ASUU to return to class and resume academic work.
According to him, two thirds of emoluments of the National budget is consumed by the University System and teaching hospitals.
