Human activist, Reno Omokri has stated he will prefer power to remain in the North after 2023 so that Southerners will learn the power of unity, Oyogist.com reports.

Omokri said this while reacting to Northern Governors’ rejection of power shift to the south.

Recall that the Northern Governors’ Forum (NGF) had said that the south’s insistence on producing the next president of Nigeria contradicts the provisions of the constitution.

They stated their position following a meeting in Kaduna State on Monday.

In a communique signed by Simon Lalong, the Governor of Plateau State and Chairman of the Forum, the governors said the position of their colleagues in the south is “condemnable”.

Reacting to the development, the former Presidential aide in a post shared via his social media handle revealed he supports the rejection of power shift to the south as he gives reasons for his choice.

According to him, Southerners unit with northerners in 2015 to betray their fellow Southerner, citing former Aviation minister, Femi Fayode defection to APC as an example, he stated that no Northerner will do that.

“I support Northern Governors Forum’s rejection of power shift to the South. Let power remain in the North after 2023 to teach Southerners the power of unity. Southerners united with Northerners to betray an innocent Southerner in 2015 and expect Northerners to trust them? Even you, will you trust someone who sells his next door neighbour to you? Betrayers are by their very nature unreliable. If they can betray one so close to them to you, they can also betray you to others. Look at Femi Fani-Kayode. No Northerner can ever exhibit such a trait! Tueh!”,he wrote.

@Reno is wrong on this one. When you look at what is happening in d north and south through the eyes of literacy rate, you will see that d so-called unity in d north is because of low literacy, and so-called disunity in d south is because of higher literacy. If d north is as literate as d south, or even higher than d south, I doubt if d north will display that kind of unity, so @Reno’s position is weak.
