Unconfirmed reports have it that the Federal Government has paid N800 million naira ($1.7M USD) to kidnappers to secure the release of victims of the Kagara kidnap, OYOGist.com reports.

Digital publication, People’s Gazzette published an exclusive report on Twitter that alleged that the Federal Government has secured the release of the students and officials that were abducted from Niger school on Wednesday.

The publication further went on to report that the FG paid N800 million for the “successful operation,” which was allegedly brokered by NSA (National Security Adviser) Monguno and Sheikh Humi.

Angered, Nigerians have taken to Twitter to react to the report calling out the Buhari-led FG for treating terrorism in the nation with kids gloves and pampering bandits and kidnappers merely because they are from the North.
