The APC being the ruling party is predicted to possess the majority of presidential aspirants base on its peculiarity because the party currently in power, it’s assumed that a presidential candidate under the APC would have a plus over other presidential candidates within the 2023 elections.
One man whose presidential ambition keeps getting the boost daily within the APC is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Jagaban of Borgu.
What seems to be the point for Tinubu is that the determination of every region to bring out their finest for the amount one seat of governance,
Tinubu keeps soaring higher in popularity within his region because the possible touch bearer to represent the South-West.
The reason for the complete support of the South-West region isn’t farfetched, from political arithmetic the region is about to organize for a troublesome battle ahead. If power shifts back to the South the probability that the South-West would pick the slot is from a far higher advantage.
Politics isn’t played by sentiment but instead by numerical strength, the minority may need an opportunity to wail but the bulk will surely have their say.
Just days ago Pastor Tunde Bakare during a sermon came out strongly in support of Tinubu’s aspiration warning detractors to remain clear.
In a video bearing the sermon, Bakare said: “Accept your humble pie. Eat it. once you were sleeping, Asiwaju was working day and night. He secured Lagos. He secured Ogun. He secured Osun. He secured Ondo. He secured Edo, and you say he’s nobody. you’re ode (a fool). you think that he laboured that much to mention , ‘Come and take.’ No, he’s not a fool.
Another top South-West APC chieftain Alhaji Mutiu Are says the previous Lagos State Governor has proved time and time again that he’s an astute administrator who has the power to urge the simplest out of everything for the overall advantage of the people.
Meanwhile, the rumoured speculated ambition of the Ekiti State Governor Dr Kayode Fayemi has reportedly hit a brick as Ekiti Stakeholders have kicked against the purported endorsement of the Governor by the State Party chairman.
A group under the aegis of Ekiti State Stakeholders Forum flayed the party’s leadership over the purported endorsement saying the Yoruba’s would speak with one voice when it involves 2023 presidency.
“Adoption of an authentic, qualified, documented , humane and experienced Yoruba man is our goal, and that we will play our part in accomplishing that task,” the Forum added.”
Another group referred to as the South-West Renewal Movement has called on Fayemi to hitch hands with other South-West leaders to rally behind Tinubu due to his competence.
“It may be a matter of fact we don’t have anyone else which will fill that vacuum. i’m appealing to Fayemi that he should consider . this is often our time. if you are feeling he has done something wrong, call him and call him to order. Omo Yoruba Eero nu o!!!
From the design of things, the South-West would need to present a formidable team for the presidency if they stand to possess an opportunity in succeeding Buhari.
