According to reports reaching oyogist.com, the Argentina’s lower house has approved a bill seeking to legalise abortion in the Country.
The bill further allows abortions to happen for pregnancies not up to the 14th week.
Argentine President, Alberto Fernández, supported the bill which gained a massive 131-117 vote with six abstentions after a debate on Thursday.
Meanwhile several groups including the Roman Catholic Church of Argentina has urged law markers to vote for “a second of reflection on what respect for life means”, while emphasising that abortion is part of today’s “throwaway culture that doesn’t respect the dignity of the unborn, the weak or elderly”.
