According to report reaching oyogist.com, the Nigerian Northeast Governors Forum have rejected the federal government proposed 2021 budget. The Northeastern Governors termed the federal government’s allocation of 45.3 billion naira to the region as being ‘paltry’.

The Northern governors condemned the allocation of a 0.35% percent to the Northeast region which has been plagued with major insecurity and infrastructural development problems.

The Northeastern Governors noted that the region was being treated unfairly as they claimed that the 0.35% percentage of the N13.02 trillion naira proposed by the federal government shows the region has been short changed.

“This (budgetary allocation) represents a paltry 0.35 per cent of the proposed N13.02tn. This means that North-East is highly short-changed.”
