Governor Fayemi approved disbursement of #96 million scholarship fund for Ekiti students

The Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has approved the disbursement of a sum of N96 million as payment of scholarships to students from state universities in the country.

Total according to the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Dr Olabimpe Aderiye, was payment of not less than 469 students Ekiti origin in higher institutions in the country.

Commissioner disclosed this in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, on Wednesday, during a talk with reporters said that the state government has initiated electronic payments to bank accounts of beneficiaries of the award.

Aderiye highlighting the benefits of the award scholarships to enter, 31 physically challenged, 288 students and 150 graduate students consisting of 71 Masters and 79 PhD students.

Commissioner said that students and students with disabilities were given N60, 000 respectively while Masters student gets N250, 000and their PhD colleagues, N750,000.

He added that the State Government signed an agreement with each grantee to give them direct employment for two years after graduation.

Reiterating commitment Fayemi-led government for the welfare of all the students of the state, Aderiye, however, urged the beneficiaries to reciprocate government gesture by concentrating on their studies and avoid vices that may conflict with their success.
