OYOGist.com has learned that Fatima Ribadu-Abubakar, the child of previous EFCC boss Nubu Ribadu, who wedded the child of previous Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Aliyu, has apologized over the wedding dress she wore at her wedding on Saturday.
Her conciliatory sentiment is coming after she got censures from numerous people via online media. Pundits said her wedding dress was not in accordance with her way of life and religion.
In an announcement on Tuesday, Fatima explained that the shade of the dress was equivalent to her skin, which she said may have made individuals think she uncovered her body.
She stated: “I got hitched on Saturday 03/10/20 and a few pictures of me that were taken inside our home got out and was shared via web-based media. This is an action which I genuinely lament, I am sorry to my loved ones for this misstep and need to earnestly thank each and everyone that have ascended to my protection.
“My underdress, which was caramel was confused with being my skin and uncovering my body. I will never do such. Nonetheless, I acknowledge responsibility of causing my family and well-wishers this disappointment and will learn from this henceforth.”
The prominent wedding in Abuja which occurred throughout the end of the week saw many top lawmakers and government authorities in participation.
Political contrasts were put aside as chieftain leaders of the All Progressives Congress and those of the resistance Peoples Democratic Party graced the event at the Asokoro territory.
