Barcelona ends their pursuit of Lautaro Martinez, but sets their sight on another wonderful striker

Spanish La Liga giants FC Barcelona have ended their interest in Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez but has their sight on another wonderful striker, oyogist.com reports.

Barcelona have decided to end their pursuit of Lionel Messi’s countryman Lautaro Martinez after learning on countless occasions that his Italian club Inter Milan are no longer willing to sanction his sale.

The 23-year-old Argentina striker has been a top transfer target for the Camp Nou outfit even before the departure of their top striker Luiz Suarez, who left the club for their La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid.

However, negotiations for the strikers acquisition has stalled in recent weeks with the Catalans now looking to sign another striker before the window closes on October 5th.

According to reports, Barcelona has turned their interest to Real Sociedad striker Alex Isak and have opened talks with his club over a potential transfer move that would see him sign for the La Liga runner-up.

The reports of the ended interest in Lautaro Martinez was related by Calciomercato – in Italian.

Isak had a phenomenal season with Real Sociedad last campaign, scoring 16 goals for the Spanish club in all competitions.

Barca however, will need to match the player’s €70m release clause in order to price him away this summer.

Also, Barcelona are looking to sign Lyon winger Memphis Depay and Liverpool’s midfielder Wajnaldum, while Sergino Dest is reportedly close to sealing a £20m move from Ajax to Barcelona.

However, Barcelona began the new campaign in a wonderful way, putting four goals pass Unai Emery’s Villarreal, with youngster Ansu Fati finding the net twice, Lionel Messi once and then an own goal completing the scoreline.
