Controversial Nigerian Politician and Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has weighed into the allegation of the Ishaq Akintola-led MURIC being funded by Islamic State for West Africa Province (ISWAP), oyogist.com reports.
In his assertions this morning, FFK as he is fondly called urged the Nigerian Government to thoroughly investigate the claim and if the Islamic body is found guilty of such allegations, they should be declared a terrorist organization.
He also advised stiffer punishment on its leaders if the statement made by San Louis Keita, a former Mali Intelligence Chief are found to be true.
FFK said; “The allegation by a fmr. Head of Intelligence of Mali that the Ishaq Akintola-led MURIC is funded by ISWA is grave.
“I call on the FG to investigate this matter &, if proved to be true, declare MURIC a terrorist org., ban it, prosecute its leaders &, if found guilty, hang them.”
It will be recalled that Louis Keita some days ago in Abidjan, alleged that Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), received $200,000 from Boko Haram affiliate, ISWAP to recruit young jihadists.
Meanwhile, these allegations have been promptly refuted by MURIC director, Professor Ishaq Akintola. He termed it a ploy to give the Organization a bad name.
