The Lagos State government has announced an increment in the numbers of people allowed to gather in public places from 20 to 50 people, oyogist.com reports.
This information was disclosed by the state governor, Sanwo-Olu at the state house on Saturday during the 17th update on the corona virus management.
According to the state governor, Sanwo-Olu, he stated that the increase was necessary as a result of the low number of corona virus cases recorded in the past two weeks.
According to him, this in turn has shown the level of commitment of the state government towards their fight against the pandemic. This new increase applies to burial ceremonies as well as AGMs.
However, governor Sanwo-Olu revealed that restaurants would now be allowed to operate from August 14th with the conditions that they don’t contain more than 50% of their holding capacity as well as obeying all laid down guidelines and rules.
However, all bars, night clubs and cinemas will remain closed till a further review will be done next month.
He also stated that all schools will be opened only for exit classes such as SSS3 and TEC3 students as announced by the federal government as from Monday, August 3rd so as to allow students prepare well ahead of their examination.
All schools are thereby expected to adhere to all guidelines and rules towards ensuring that the spread of the virus is reduced to a minimal level.
Usage of nose masks should be encouraged, hand washing facilities should be made available and they must ensure to adhere to every other stipulated guidelines.
However, Governor Sanwo-Olu furthermore revealed that the state government are making plans to make available nose masks for schools that would be reopened.
