JUST IN: Magu Is Being Probe For Over 300 Houses, 7 Crude Oil-Laden Ships And N37bn Assets

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFFC), Ibrahim Magu who was invited for questioning days back for corruption allegations levelled against him is currently being probe for embezzlement of public funds, OYOGist.com reports.

Justice Ayo Salami led presidential panel has asked him to account for 380 houses and 7 crude oil laden ships. He was also told to account for the disposal of assets worth N37 billion.

This grilling came following allegations raised against him by Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Salami (SAN).

The quizzing of Magu by the panel started on Monday after his arrest by detectives in Abuja and on Tuesday, he was grilled on cash discrepancies said to be worth N539 billion raised from the sales of seized assets and N504 billion realized by the EFCC.

So far, about 20 allegations have been levelled against him by the Attorney General of the Federation.

It was gathered on Wednesday, that on the ground floor of the Federal Criminal Investigation Department, FCID, Area 10, Abuja, where the EFCC boss is being held, his family members are allowed to visit him.
