OYOGist.com has learned that the former Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Hon. Abegunde Sunday said he will not support the second term bid of the State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN)

The former secretary who tendered his resignation letter today, said the Governor treated him badly during the three years he spent as the Secretary to the state Government. While speaking on Crest FM, Akure, he said the governor did not release the necessary funds to his office while he was lying that he used to give him 5 million monthly.

He expressed sadness to the attitude of the Governor to the development of Ondo State. He said the Governor did not perform at all to warrant his second term. He explained that the Governor doesn’t pay salary on time, that people are seriously suffering and he can’t be a party to such government any longer.

He said he was part of those that worked laboriously for his success at the last election, adding that the governor can’t win election on his own. The former secretary said he had earlier reported the Governor to the Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi. He thanked the Governor for giving him the opportunity to serve and wished him a quick recovery.

Hon. Abegunde Sunday Ifedayo was a two terms member of the House of Representatives before his appointment as the secretary to the State Government.

Recalled that the Deputy Governor. Hon. Agboola Ajayi recently decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) where he is contesting the governorship ticket of the party to slug it out with his boss in the October 10 gubernatorial election in the State.

The state APC has been divided into two, why some are loyal to the Governor, others are loyal to the Unity Group. The camp of the Governor appeared to be having issues, as more resignations are to be expected.
