World War II Era singer, Dame Vera Lynn, dies at 103

British singer who sang songs to uplift the British troops during the World War II-era has died at the age of 103, OYOGist has learnt.

Dame Vera Lynn clocked 103 in March. She is known for wartime morale boosting song ‘We’ll Meet Again’ and continued to perform hits in Britain and across the world after the 2nd World War ended.

Dame Vera Lynn’s death was announced on Thursday, the 18th of June, 2020. Below is an image she took on her 103rd birthday in March 2020.

During the World War II, Very Lynn also made appearances with the British troops, uplifting the “boys” and bringing their morale up. She ended up traveling to places such as Burma and India.
