While featuring on a live radio programme monitored in Ibadan on Saturday, the speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Debo Ogundoyin has reportedly stated why he built a mosque for the people in his constituency.

According to the honourable speaker who spoke on a programme titled Political Circuit on Fresh FM Radio station located in Ibadan, people would have expected him to build a church as he was a Christian.

He however explained that the mosque he built was as a result of the request for the people of the village.

Ogundoyin explained that while he visited the village which he said is under Eruwa when he was campaigning and seeking for votes, the only thing that the villagers requested for was for him to build them a mosque. He therefore stated that he had to fulfill the promise that he made to the people.

While also explaining that he does not believe in palliatives, the speaker stated that what he is trying to do is to rather strengthen his people economically through empowerment.

The number 3 man in Oyo State also while reacting to the insinuations that he has stopped going to his constituents explained that he only stopped going to his people temporarily.

He explained that this is due to Covid-19 pandemic as he could not be seen with lots of people gathering together as he will be attacked by people for flouting social distancing regulation.

The speaker however explained that he is still very much in tune with the people of his constituency.
