The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, has revealed that he has concluded a comprehensive report on crime and criminality in Oyo town and he will hand over the report to the state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde soonest.
Alaafin who disclosed this while hosting governor Makinde in his palace explained that he only requested police squadron because he was greatly disturbed by the menace of thuggery, gang violence perpetrated by boys of various gangs in the town.
Oba Adeyemi put on record that boys of Apaara, Ilaka, Ajagba, and Oke-Apo have become dreadful in Oyo town, noting that he has video clips and documents to prove it.
Alaafin of Oyo who maintained that there must be only one authority at a time called for a cordial relationship between governor Makinde and his deputy, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan.
He, however, enjoined the people of Oyo state to support governor Seyi Makinde’s led administration.
In his response, governor Makinde acknowledged the plight of the monarch on insecurity in Oyo town and promised to speak with relevant authorities on siting a Police Mobile Squadron in Oyo town.
Recall It was rumored that the monarch facilitated the police unit for Oyo town but it was reportedly hijacked and taken elsewhere by Governor Makinde.
