OYOGist.com reports that a racist customer tried to shame billionaire, Jeff Bezos into silence for speaking up against racism in America. He refused to let his voice be silenced.
As the campaign against police brutality against blacks in the United States intensifies in the wake of the murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis Police, Derek Chauvin, major businesses are now lending their voices to the Black Lives Matter campaign.
One such major business is Amazon, America’s biggest e-commerce company, founded by the billionaire, Jeff Bezos. Amazon had a banner display the Black Lives Matter movement on its homepage to lend support to the movement, but one particular customer wasn’t impressed with this.
The customer, who was simply revealed as Macy had to write to Jeff Bezos to express her displeasure in the move and even reminded Bezos that All Lives Matter (a phrase mostly racist white Americans use to silence the Black Lives Matter movement).
Macy told Jeff Bezos that she found it offensive that Amazon would “blast” Black Lives Matter on its website.

“It is quite disturbing to get on the AMAZON website and see “BLACK LIVES MATTER.” Macy wrote in an email to Jeff Bezos.
“You provide services to more than millions of people. Including my self and the rest of my family for our business needs and personal purchases. I am for everyone voicing their opinions and standing up for what you believe in, but for your company to blast this on your website is very offensive to me and I’m sure you’ll be hearing from others. ALL LIVES MATTER!” the rest of Macy’s email read.
The CEO of Amazon had the best response when he stood his ground and told the customer that he would not change his mind on supporting black lives mater movement.
He told her that he has a 20-year-old son and he doesn’t worry about him being choked to death during a police arrest, but cannot say the same for black parents.
Jeff revealed that while he believes all lives matter, “Black Lives Matter” is a way to voice out support for the movement happening now and he won’t be changing his stance on that.
