The South Korean Government, in responding to news stories about the leader of its Northern counterpart being in fragile condition after heart surgery, has revealed that there are no signs that Kim Jong-un is unwell, OYOGist.com has learnt.
After the North Korean leader was absent from important public functions, the media published reports that cited a single source saying he has suffered complications from a cardiovascular procedure and was in grave condition.
The Chairman of the People’s Democratic Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the head of the leading worker’s party was absent from his grandfather’s 108 birthday ceremony on April 15.
He was last spotted in public on April 11, OYOGist.com is aware.
The Blue House, which is the South’s seat of power said they have not noticed any peculiar movement to suggest that was the case.
“We’ve detected no special movements that can back up the rumor of health irregularities,” the Blue House said in an official press statement. “We understand that Chairman Kim is currently, with close aides, staying in a provincial area (outside Pyongyang).”
North Korea hasn’t released any figures on its COVID-19 status.
