Pastor Sam Otenaike of Precious Peoples Assembly for all nations (PPAfan) spoke on his YouTube Channel, wondering why the so-called men of God would be going with police officers as escorts while the majority of their followers don’t have any security.
He said: “Why should an overseer be going with a retinue of mobile policemen?
“Someone said; ‘pastor you are not a big man of God,’ I don’t want to be that big man of God. That’s your definition of a big man of God, I don’t want to be!
“If I’m calling on God and I depend on mobile police to be carrying gun and following me about and I’m representing a God …is that not stupidity?
“Then those are the ones we hail ‘big man of God’. Stupid people, all of us, including myself. So, don’t think I’m, just abusing you.
“Somebody is preaching, ‘God is your covering’…and then he enters his car… mobile (police ) is going in front and you are going on foot.
“Who will protect you? Are you not thinking?
The pastor also said that Christ didn’t come so that people would have money and be prosper as other pastors are preaching.
“If all that Christ came for is your ‘definition of prosperity’: money in your pockets, contracts, cars, then Nigeria should be the wealthiest country in the world.
“If our streets are filled with joy, would there be kidnapping. Village life has ceased. You can’t leave your house open because your neighbours would ransack everything, steal your phones and sympathise with you when you return,” he added.
