The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr Femi Adesina, has come under fire for saying that CAN is politicizing the murder of Rev Andimi.

Recall that Rev Lawan Andimi, a Christian Association of Nigeria chairman was killed by Boko Haram on the 20th of January 2020 in Adamawa State.

The president reacted to the news by calling the killing of Rev Lawan Andimi by Boko Haram cruel and inhuman in a statement shared on Twitter.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) reacted by saying the government was in collusion with Boko Haram and was responsible for the killing of Lawan Andimi and other Christians that have been murdered by Boko Haram.

In reacting, Femi Adesina called the statement by CAN a political toned reaction, and said the group is unwittingly generating hate in the country through it’s press statement.

This statement has drawn ire from Nigerians, especially on Twitter, where he’s now trending.

Femi Fani Kayode, the former ministry for Aviation, was the first to call Femi Adesina out on twitter.
