BREAKING: Amotekun gets approved as VP Osinbajo, IGP, AGF, reach agreement

After much back-and-forth between the Federal Government and the South West States Governors on the legal status of Operation Amotekun, a conclusion has now been reached.

Amotekun gets the green light to proceed from Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who presided over the National Economic Council, and the Attorney General of Federation (AGF) Abubakar Malami and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Adamu, in a meeting with the governors of the South West States reached an agreement that allows Operation Amotekun to proceed.

Recall that earlier, the AGF Malami called the operation Amotekun unconstitutional.

The Vice Presider, Professor, Yemi Osinbajo, sitting in place for the Presider, Muhammadu Buhari, chair the NEC meeting that saw Operation Amotekun get an approval to proceed.

In a statement shared by the VP’s Senior Special Assistant-Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, revealed that the South Weste security outfit Operation Amotekun, can now go on.
