According to reports by Sahara Reporters, a joint force of the Nigerian Police and the Nigerian Army has foiled a planned robbery that took place in a Firstbank branch in Abuja.

The armed robbers had gained entry into the bank but their operation was abruptly cut short after the authorities were alerted of their operation and a joint force of the Army and the Police barricaded the vicinity of the bank, preventing them from escaping.

The armed robbers had reportedly stormed the bank, shooting into the air and scaring people away. They succeeded in gaining entrance into the banking hall.

However, within minutes of gaining entrance, the police and army arrived at the scene. The robbers, becoming aware of the presence of the authorities, refused to come out of the banking hall.

According to reports, one of the robbers that tried to escape was shot and was prevented from leaving the bank, with the gunshot injury.

The joint force of the police and the army later successfully gained entrance into the banking hall through an alternative entrance and the armed robbers were arrested.

The people can be seen jubilating as the army and police took the robbers away. Watch the video of the scene below.
