Former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, has been taken into custody by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) shortly after leaving Kuje Correctional Centre, where he had just completed his bail conditions.
Sources confirmed that Malami’s arrest is linked to a fresh investigation following the reported discovery of arms at his country home in Kebbi State during a search conducted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
While details of the alleged arms discovery remain limited, security officials say the development prompted the DSS to open a separate probe distinct from Malami’s earlier legal troubles. He is expected to be questioned over the circumstances surrounding the weapons and any potential security implications.
