Former actress Georgina Onuoha has once again voiced strong criticism against Senator Ned Nwoko following his recent public accusations targeting his estranged wife, Regina Daniels. This latest controversy erupted after Regina underwent a drug screening in the United Kingdom, which returned a negative result, contradicting Ned’s claims that she tested positive for drug use in Nigeria.

Ongoing Dispute Over Drug Allegations

Despite the UK test clearing Regina of any drug use, Ned Nwoko doubled down by sharing WhatsApp messages in which he accused her of inappropriate conduct and substance abuse. This move prompted Onuoha to respond with sharp rebuke, highlighting the troubling nature of Ned’s behavior.

Onuoha described Ned Nwoko’s actions as “deeply disturbing” and unbefitting of a public official. She emphasized that rather than targeting Regina, Ned himself appears to be in urgent need of psychological support. She stated, “His conduct is unbecoming of a responsible and honorable man. His relentless online attacks and attempts to control a young woman he began a relationship with when she was just 17 reflect classic traits of a malignant narcissist-someone who seeks to dominate every aspect of another person’s life.”

She urged Ned to respect Regina’s autonomy and cease efforts to tarnish her reputation. “A man approaching 70 publicly battling a 24-year-old woman, who entered the relationship as a teenager, should raise serious concerns among Nigerians. Regina has grown, matured, and chosen to move on from a relationship that no longer serves her well-being,” Onuoha added.

The Right to Leave Toxic Relationships

Onuoha underscored the fundamental right in any democratic society for individuals to exit harmful relationships without fear of retribution. Instead of honoring this right, Ned’s ongoing campaign to label Regina a “drug addict” and manipulate their children to force her return is a clear attempt at control rather than genuine concern.

“Regina voluntarily submitted to independent drug testing abroad and was cleared. True addiction impairs daily functioning, which is inconsistent with the life she leads publicly. Admitting to poor decisions does not equate to addiction. Words carry weight, and false accusations can irreparably damage lives,” Onuoha explained.

Warning Against Manipulation and Defamation

She warned that the pattern of intimidation, defamation, and relentless pressure is a familiar tactic used to undermine women who assert their independence. “If anything untoward happens to Regina, accountability must be clearly assigned,” Onuoha stressed.

She concluded with a direct appeal to Ned Nwoko: “Senator Ned, respect her decision and leave her alone. Freedom means having the right to walk away. Your smear campaign will not succeed. Regina may not have your eloquence in writing, but many Nigerians of integrity will stand in her defense.”
