Few hours after Peter Obi, a former Anambra state governor and 2023 Presidential aspirant announced his Exit from the opposition People’s Democratic Party, several Nigerians have shared mixed reactions towards the news, Oyogist reports.
Recall Our correspondent had earlier reported that Obi had on Wednesday announced his resignation from the opposition party.
He said recent developments within the party made it practically impossible to continue participating and making constructive contributions.
“Our national challenges are deep-seated and require that we each make profound sacrifices towards rescuing our country. My commitment to rescuingNigeria remains firm, even if the route differs,” Obi had said.
However, Nigerians while reacting to Peter Obi’s Exit said although he left the party, he would continue to be the people’s choice.
Deji Adeyanju, an Abuja based activist wrote;
“Iyorcha Ayu and his NWC members are destroying the PDP. Key members are leaving the party already. There is an exodus out of PDP in the South East due to bad congresses and blatant imposition and undemocratic practices especially by Sam Anyanwu, the National Secretary & the NOS.
“Imagine how heartless and unreasonable Ayu and his dollars hungry folks are, they couldn’t even leave Anambra for a candidate so popular like Peter Obi. They imposed a fraudulent delegate process on the state.
