A new case of bubonic plague in 2020 has been reportedly detected in China. The suspected carrier of the virus was a three years old boy, according to reports.
The case is the only one detected in the province so far, citing local officials in Menghai county.
Two cases of the Bubonic virus was confirmed Earlier in July and August, in the northern province according to a statement on the local health authority’s website.
The second case was so severe which led to the death of the carrier due of circulatory system failure.
The Bubonic plague is caused by bacteria and transmitted through flea bites and infected animals
It’s Symptoms include painful, swollen lymph nodes, as well as fever, chills and coughing.
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), the Virus can be easily treated with antibiotics and the use of standard preventative measures.
