OYOGist.com has learned that Italian soccer star, Fabio Cannavaro has reacted to Napoli signing of Super Eagles of Nigeria star Victor Osimhen from French Ligue 1 giants LOSC Lille of France for the region of €70 million.
The legendary player said he believes Gennaro Gattuso led team have made the right decision by signing the former Wolfsburg football club of Germany star ahead of the other clubs interested in his signature, he also said the young striker is a perfect fit for Napoli.
After a long time rumour, Napoli officially announced the signing of Victor Osimhen from Lille on a club record fee last weekend, and he signed a five years contract with them, and he has also been given Jersey number 9 ahead of next season.
In an interview with Tuttosport, Fabio Cannavaro said the signing is very good for Gattuso’s team, and it’s a nice shot.
“Napoli’s investment of €70m for Victor Osimhen convinces me. It’s a nice shot. I am happy for Rino Gattusso. He really wanted to have the player and he has finally arrived at Napoli.”
Victor Osimhen was superb for Lille FC last season, scoring 18 goals with several assists in all competitions.
The 21 years old was signed by Lille from Sporting Charleroi of Belgium for €13 million, and he spent only a year with the French club before he was sold to Napoli for €70 million.
