The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the winners of the by-elections conducted across several states, including Enugu, Rivers, Ondo, Kano and other parts of the country.

The by-elections, held on Saturday, were organised to fill vacant seats in the National Assembly and various state Houses of Assembly following the deaths, resignations or appointments of previous officeholders. The exercise took place under tight security, with electoral officials reporting a generally peaceful process in most locations.

According to the electoral umpire, candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), and other political parties secured victories in different constituencies, reflecting the competitive nature of the contests across the affected states.

INEC’s Returning Officers declared the winners after the collation of results from the various polling units and local government areas. The commission said the elections were conducted in line with the Electoral Act and urged aggrieved parties to seek legal redress where necessary.

Political observers described the by-elections as an important test ahead of the 2027 general elections, noting that the outcomes could reshape political alignments in the affected constituencies.

The commission congratulated the successful candidates and reiterated its commitment to conducting free, fair and credible elections, while encouraging citizens to continue participating actively in the democratic process.
