2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour party, Peter Gregory Obi has sent his well wishes to Ekweremadu over his recent ordeal, Oyogist reports.
Mr Obi, in a post on his Twitter handle earlier this morning said he hopes justice will be done.
His post read:
“We join all men of goodwill in praying for the healing of their daughter and commit them into God’s hand for justice to be done. -PO
Recall senator Ekweremadu alongside his wife were arrested and detained in the UK over alleged organ trafficking.
In a shocking twist of events, it was revealed that the senator was caught up in a web, as he had initially brought one of his domestic workers from Nigeria (who had agreed to sell his kidney for a whopping amount to the senator for treatment of his daughter.
However, upon arrival at a hospital in US, the doctors declined his kidney, as it wasn’t compatible.
In a bid to remain in the country, the young man reportedly went to an agency in UK, telling them that he was illegally imported from Nigeria.
