Nigerian Musician Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, known popularly as Burna boy finally received his Grammy award plaque today, 10th June,2021, Oyogist.com reports.
Burna Boy took home the award for Best Global Music Album at the 2021 Grammy Awards on Sunday, March 14.
His album Twice as Tall beat out albums by Antibalas (FU Chronicles), Bebel Gilberto (Agora), Anoushka Shankar (Love Letters), and Tinariwen (Amadjar).
Burna boy took to his Instagram page to announce the news as his award arrived Nigeria from across the country.
The 29 years old musician filled with so much happiness praises God for this wonderful feat and also recounts the wonderful feat his family members have all reached.
“Early morning deliveries from across the pond!
My parents prayed for Excellent children,not houses, cars or “things”.
They asked my sisters for stellar degrees;one got a first class in Finance,the other got Distinction in Engineering.
They asked me for a Grammy, and here we are.
I am a product of sacrifice! Thank God and thank you all again!”, he wrote.
