Covid-19: 48% patients in Lagos are asymptomatic – LASG Health Commissioner

According to report reaching oyogist.com, the Lagos state Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, has reportedly disclosed that 48% of the Covid-19 cases in the state are asymptomatic.

The Health Commissioner made this known during a state briefing at the state capital, Alausa, on Monday, while also noting that 16% of the Covid-19 cases in the state were severe and 1% of the cases are critical.

He stated in part; “48 per cent of people infected with COVID-19 have very mild symptoms or even asymptomatic. Some of them don’t even know they’re carrying the virus.”

It should be noted that the Coronavirus pandemic which has currently plagued the world economy has affected over 78.7 million people worldwide with a total death of over 1.7 million people.
